Upgrade your warm weather wardrobe with white jeans
Apr 17, 2023I don't know about you, but I'm happy to see the weather is finally warming up and melting my winter woes. The days are getting longer, the sun is shining and there's no more snow, yet I'm feeling teased because it's still cold.
What to wear this time of year is confusing. (I saw a guy the other day wearing a ski jacket with shorts.) My son Chris says we only have 3 distinct seasons, because spring is just winter's hangover. He might be right.
None-the-less I'm dreaming of the days of stylish sunglasses, sleeveless tops, cute sandals and bare legs. Right now I'm digging through my closet and assessing what I'll wear. Taking a good look at my warm-weather clothes I realize some look tired and others need to be replaced. I still love my go-to classics especially my white jeans. With their classic style and versatility they have easily become one of the most hard-working pieces in my spring/summer wardrobe. White denim is eye-catching, tan enhancing, casual and classy. They add that little *extra* to your wardrobe because they can be dressed up or down depending on your style.
White jeans are always a vibe for spring. So if you want to bring a pair into your capsule here are three Helene-approved ways to wear them well:
- Choose a thicker fabric like denim or heavy cotton. That will eliminate the problem of pockets or panty lines showing through. Always wear flesh tone underwear.
- Choose a straight leg or flare style over skinny. Not only are they are trending at the moment they also balance out heavy hips and thighs.
- Go up a size. You don't want to look like you poured yourself into skintight pants. Your jeans can flatter your body and be incredibly comfortable.
If you're like many women, you may be a little wary of wearing white jeans. Don't worry. Contrary to popular belief white jeans won't make you look bigger if you style them right. They can actually be slimming and there are a lot of ways to wear them.
