I'm not okay with that
Mar 28, 2023
I keep wanting to yell at the memes and ads that pop up on my screen, especially as a woman who isn't young (but far from old).
Stop telling women they are not enough unless they *improve* themselves in order to manipulate their emotions and *shame* them into buying your products or services to make them look younger.
Listening to anti-aging messaging actually gets us farther away from knowing our value. Those toxic messages challenge our belief system about ourselves - about who we are. They subliminally advocate that we stay stuck in a spiral of self-doubt.
Instead of being *improved* to be found acceptable, let's be brave enough to give ourselves permission to celebrate ourselves and enthusiastically embrace our evolution into the next season.
I aspire to become a modern-day wise woman who is light-hearted, full of fun, vigor and vitality. A woman with stories, life experiences, sass and style. I will embrace the grace, wisdom, dignity and beauty that comes with age because I am happier and more in-tune with myself than ever before.
I don't know who you are and what your story is. I do know that you are one of a kind. If you feel stuck and scared sometimes know that you are not the first and not the last. You are not alone.
Do whatever you want, but I will only give my money to the business' who's values align with mine. I encourage you to seek out those products and services that will help you feel good about the woman you are right now - not who you were yesterday.
You're already enough. You belong to yourself. There will always be someone who doesn't see your beauty and your worth. Don't let it be you.
