Guilty Pleasure
Nov 04, 2020Last night, on election day in a country that is not my own, I went to bed anxious and afraid. I woke up this morning feeling confused, sad, angry and bewildered. Scared to turn on media and listen to the onslaught.
When I want to escape reality I have a few favorite go-to-guilty-pleasure movies.
Everyone does, right?
Here's my list of movies that always make me smile. They are in no particular order except Mama Mia which is and always will be #1 with me.
- Legally Blonde
- Hairspray
- Sisterhood o the Traveling Pants
- Pitch Perfect
- Dirty Dancing
- Pretty Woman
- My Big Fat Greek Wedding
- The Devil Wears Prada
- Princess Diaries
- You've Got Mail
During times like this, we need more support. So take some time for yourself. Today I'm going to go easy. Maybe tonight I'll watch Miss Congeniality.
In this charming film Sandra Bullock plays an FBI agent who goes undercover after it's believed someone is trying to kill the winner of the Miss United States beauty pageant.
This election could, whichever way it goes produce unhealthy reactions, intensity and violence.
There are important things happing in the world right now. Whatever happens, I want to remind you that we should all hope for world peace.
