Don't Let Those Pounds Weigh You Down
May 13, 2020I need to social distance myself from my refrigerator so I can flatten my curve.
Yes, I've gained weight.
No, I don't know how much. I haven't summoned the courage to step onto a scale, just yet.
I do know my fat pants are too tight.
The inescapable fact is that I'm spending a lot of time at home these days. Being out of my routine discombobulates me. I buffer my discomfort with jujubes, cookies, wine or whatever.
I was bemoaning my body to Scottie (my husband) and he just looked at me and sarcastically (yet lovingly) and said "Have you read your book?"
Busted.
I read the words I wrote in the chapter Treat Yourself Gently and reminded myself that I don't have to feel bad and think there's nothing I can do about it.
It's time for me to do the work with a *no excuses* attitude about treating myself gently, as I take control of my health … and my closet.
I'm not going to let those pounds weigh me down and please don't YOU measure your worth by your weight.
